Here's a slide show of some of the amazing dogs I've had the pleasure to work with (and on). Lots of before/after photos, some are just the after (I get working and forget to take a before...), and a few fun photos from around the shop.
My favorites are puppies (any kind). I love to train a puppy for a life time of grooming.
I pride myself on treating each dog as an individual and helping them have a good day at the grooming shop. When I look back at the before / afters of some of these pictures I can see that the dogs were very scared in the morning and have relaxed by the afternoon.
My favorite breeds are Havanese, Yorkies, Poodles, Maltese, and Bichons. My specialty is dogs that are high energy. I always joke that I can hit a moving target. :)
I've been in this industry for many years and find that patient, kind groomers are the exception - not the rule. There are no regulations in our industry so be sure to tour the shop before you leave your dog. Have a chat with your groomer in the morning when you drop your dog off -and if it feels wrong, don't leave your dog!
Asking around at area vets and dog parks will help you to find the best groomers in your town.
If you have a current groomer that treats your dog with love, kindness and respect then consider yourself lucky and remember to tip them well, or at least remember them at Christmas. Most groomers are commission paid, and everyone loves a small token of appreciation.
I'm fortunate that many of my clients consider me a part of their family. And I'm fortunate that I work for an awesome woman who allows me to be me. I get to be creative, choose the dogs I groom, and schedule my day so I have plenty of time for each dog.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.
